A letter from the founder
Talent Is Everywhere. Opportunity Isn’t.
As a former performing artist, I know what it takes to pursue a dream. I also know how much talent the world will never see simply because someone lacks the training, resources, mentorship, or opportunity to be seen.
I started the Villalobos Performing Arts Association (VPAA) because I believe the arts should never be a privilege reserved for those who can afford them.
Years later, traveling through South America, I witnessed both the heartbreak of poverty and the extraordinary creativity, joy, and potential that exist within it. I knew I couldn’t simply walk away.
Today, through VPAA, a U.S.-based nonprofit, and the Villalobos International Arts Center in Medellín, Colombia, we are creating opportunities for artists locally and worldwide to learn, teach, create, and build a future through dance, music, art, and film.
We’re not just supporting the arts. We’re giving people a chance to discover what’s possible for their lives.
Your contribution helps make that opportunity real.
— Christian Villalobos
